In a recent address in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Jitendra Singh, emphasized that the mantra guiding India’s atomic energy sector is “Safety first, production next.” This statement comes amidst ongoing concerns regarding the safety measures at the Kudankulam nuclear power plant, a project that has faced delays attributed to apprehensions about its operational safety.
